Dundracon 31 - 2007

Summary by Nick

Dundracon 31 went unbelievably well. We were incredibly well-prepared for the event and virtually everything went off without a hitch. The area was beautiful, the attendees were relaxed and friendly, and overall Dundracon 31 provided the best convention-gaming experience Don and I have ever had.

Experience Points by Nick

Dundracon 31 was the first convention to see the following:

  • Two continuous sessions of 4-hour gaming (with 1-hour lunch) followed by another four hours in a second room! (Twelve hours of gaming total)
  • Full table of 8 players for twelve hours!
  • Youngest players ever! We had a brother and sister ages 8 and 7 at the table. Not only did they stay for the entire duration of the game (and were reasonably well-behaved), but they arrived two hours early and stayed for the four-hour bonus session at the end!
  • First DEEP SEKH event to be primarily PvP! (as originally intended)
  • 25 Pre-generated characters from 4 factions available for players to choose from!
  • Character sheets in color!
  • Use of DDM tactical maps!
  • Greater variety of characters to choose from!
  • Spellcasters included for the first time! (Incarnum, Shadow Magic and Soulbinding!)

Goals for Next Convention

  • More playable characters.
  • Greater diversity among character types.
  • Greater diversity between factions.
  • Fewer multi-faction characters.
  • Brand-new, homebrew tactical maps. Unique and/or map-specific, non-Deathmatch objectives.
  • Integrate Victory Point system.
  • More, varied game types.
  • Overhaul spell lists and prune to be combat-relevant.
  • Include more, varied magic systems for players to sample. (Psionics and Blade Magic)
